Elton John retiring after one final world tour

Legendary singer Elton John announced today that he’s retiring from touring — after one final, three-year world tour.

The singer, who’s 70 and has been touring for nearly 50 years, said his priorities shifted. He’s married with two children and doesn’t want to miss them growing up.

John made the announcement with an incredible virtual reality concert on YouTube.

After nearly 20 minutes of performances, John sat down with Anderson Cooper in the video to discuss his retirement.

Luckily, he’ll be going out with a bang to give his fans a proper goodbye.

Fans on Twitter had plenty to say about his announcement.

Thank you, Sir Elton

Plenty are excited about one last chance to see him live.

Also this struggle.

Others loved his reason for retiring, and the fact that he still planned a three-year tour.

And others still were glad his name was trending because he’s retiring and not a worse reason.
